In the State Duma introduced a bill to strengthen liability for the theft of money from bank cards
The Criminal Code (CC) proposed to introduce a separate punishment for stealing money from your bank account and electronic money. The corresponding bill introduced by a group of State Duma deputies, headed by the chairman of the lower house of the parliament committee on finrynku Anatoliem Aksakovym ("fair Russia"), Located in the electronic database of the State Duma of the data.
The bill proposes to supplement Article 159.6 (fraud in the sphere of computer information) of the Criminal Code qualifying sign - theft of funds from a bank account, as well as electronic cash. Simultaneously, the bill provides for amendments to the article 159.3 of the Criminal Code (fraud with the use of electronic means of payment). The new version of the Criminal Code is fixed for criminal liability for theft of another's property, committed with the use of forged or another person's electronic means of payment, including credit, settlement or other payment cards, by deception authorized employee credit, commercial or other organization, and sanctions are supplemented by an increase in the maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to three years.
The bill also reduced threshold amount of large size and particularly large for these offenses articles (250 thousand. Rubles and 1 million, respectively). The maximum sentence for theft of funds from a bank account on a large scale is 10 years imprisonment.
