CFTC Speculators continue to bet

CFTC: Speculators continue to bet on the decline of the euro

As can be seen from the latest CFTC data for the week to August 5, speculators increased their net short position in the euro to 128,747 contracts against 108,075 contracts in the previous reporting period. Note that this figure is still quite far from the extreme values, although a maximum of the last two years (approx August 14, 2012 it amounted to 137 810 contracts). Speculators also increased their net short position in the yen: 95,399 contracts against 73,069 contracts as of July 29, the highest level since March 11.
